Private Label: From Brief to a Repeatable Process

A practical framework for protecting artwork, aligning specifications and making private-label reorders easier to review.

Start with ownership

Before quoting, document who owns the artwork, which files the supplier may use, who approves changes and whether an NDA or separate tooling agreement is needed.

Lock the specification

Record materials, dimensions, print references, packaging, compliance scope and the approved sample version. Any later change should have a written owner, cost effect and schedule effect.

Prepare for reorders

Keep the final approved files, sample record, packing specification and inspection checklist together. A repeatable record reduces ambiguity when the next order is reviewed, while price, MOQ and lead time are reconfirmed for that order.
